James Goodwille Pierre attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia from 1983-1986 and Georgia State University from 1987-1989 where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry with a Minor in Physics. He later received a Masters in Education from the University of Central Florida and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 2000. Goodwille Pierre is licensed in the Supreme Court of Texas, The Federal Southern District of Texas and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Goodwille previously served as the District Director for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-18th TX). In this role, he was responsible for managing the overall operation of the 18th Congressional District while developing synergy between the District Office and the D.C. Office. In addition, he represented the Congresswoman at various meetings and events in the district; nurtured and established constituent relationships throughout the district, while working with elected officials at the city, county and state levels to help with all community needs.

James Goodwille Pierre is an active servant of the community, and a well respected attorney. Among other organizations in which he is active, Goodwille Pierre is a Director on the Board of the State Bar of Texas, Member at Large to the Board of Directors of the National Bar Association, Immediate Past Chair of the African American Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Texas, Past President of the Houston Lawyers Association, Board Member to the Legislative Division of the Earl Carl Institute at the Thurgood Marshal School of Law, Deacon at the Community of Faith Church and a subscribing life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Goodwille is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 100 Black Men of America-Metropolitan Houston Chapter, Houston Intellectual Property Law Association, Houston Bar Association, Houston Lawyers Association, and the National Bar Association, He is married to his wonderful wife of twelve years, Jacquelyn Tinsley, a native of Houston, Texas. He also has two beautiful daughters Joi Candace, 11 and Jada Elaine, 4.
